Breakfast was at 6 am as it has been each day here. (Did I fail to mention that? :( We boarded the paddle canoe for the ride down the most beautiful part of the river on which Sani Lodge is located. .
The lovely walk through the woods to the Napo River
Our luggage arriving at the Napo River by cart
The return trip took 3 hours going upstream
I had a chance to have a long discussion with our guide on the return trip. He told me President Correa is doing great things but unfortunately he wants to change term limits from 2 terms to President for life. They fear he will become a dictator like Castro. There will be a referendum.
It was also interesting to see what the people here know of the US. They all knew of the Boston Marathon bombing but they know almost nothing of current political events.
Erosion along the river is a huge problem
Back to civilization. The town of Coca.
The Napa River from the air
Some of the roads of Ecuador. Our flight back t Quito was 30 minutes but if we had taken the bus it would take 8 hours as roads are very bad and buses stops anywhere someone wants to get on or off.
I've been trying to get a picture of these typical homes in Quito. Built on the hillside so very dangerous if there is a mudslide and definitely not earthquake proof.
