I woke this morning with altitude symptoms. A bit dizzy and weak but by noon was ready to begin our adventure. First a preview of our wonderful little hotel
Over 200 years ago this was a convent I think the sisters were Franciscan. It was bought by the grandfather of the current owner when the nuns moved due to the changing demographics of Quito. It is totally solar powered and much of the art is recycled. Yet the furniture is very old and pieces of art in themselves.
The tea room. Open to guests

| The furniture are works of art |
 |
| Made from recycled cooking pans |
 |
| The chapel original statue from the convent days. Note the carved wooden doors. These are throughout |
 |
| Looking down form the third floor to the livigroom on the second. The door on the left is our room. |
 |
| The lounge on the third floor again filled with very heavy beautifully carved furniture. |

Should hve taken a picture of our our room before we "lived" in it. We will stay here one more night when we return from the rain forest.
The ground floor where the restaurant is was the stables many years ago
